In the music of William Grant Still, Michael Ippolito, and Claude Debussy, one hears both the sacred power of the ancient world and modern secularism and innovation. From the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur to the evocation of the ennanga, an African harp, these pieces for harp, piano and string quartet reimagine the past in the music of the present.
